Rev. Dr. James C. Perkins is founder of the Benjamin E. Mays Male Academy. He has served as senior pastor of Greater Christ Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan, for twenty five years. He has established numerous enterprises that support the Detroit community, including the Fellowship Nonprofit Housing Corporation. Dr. Perkins is the author of Building Up Zion’s Walls: Ministry for Empowering the African American Family (Judson Press, 1999).

paster perkins, you made a brilliant move in writing this book.if we ever need a playbook for are young blackmen we need it now.this book has all the information are youngmen need to become successful and positve in todays world. wow this is really a valuable book that every home with a young black male in the house should have. this book not only teaches how to deal with everyday life issues this book speaks true facts and concerns, in todays society. my son keeps this book with him for daily bread. thank you for being are lifecoach, may God contiune to bless you as you continue to give of yourself to are youngmen. james, scooby.

Pastor, I’ve only been attending GCBC for about two months and you or the congregation of parishioners never cease to amaze me. I love this book. It is definitely a great read. My oldest son will be finishing it before the summer is over. May God continue to work through you and your extensive church ministries.

I am interested in finding out where I can acquire a copy of the “Playbook for Christian Manhood: I am a resident of Redford, Michigan and I am raising a 13-year-old son as a single parent.
